Internet users are free to make use of the
eRegister
(South African Nursing Council Electronic Register of Nurses and Midwives) and by
clicking on the "I Accept the Conditions of Use" button above, agree to the
following Conditions of Use.
For security reasons, the
eRegister
is a COPY of the official register displayed on the Internet and updated from time
to time in terms of section 35 of the Nursing Act, 2005. For this reason,
RECENT additions and removals may not be reflected until the next update takes
place. The date on which the information was extracted from the official
register is shown in the heading of details pages.
In terms of section 36 of the Nursing Act, 2005, there are four documents
that provide proof that a person is registered in terms of the Nursing Act,
2005. These documents are the following:
- a published (printed) copy of the register or any supplementary list;
- a South African Nursing Council certificate of registration (which is
valid for twelve months from the date of registration);
- a South African Nursing Council annual practising certificate (APC); OR
- a certified copy under the hand of the Registrar of the entry of the
person's name in the register.
The sole purpose of the
eRegister
is to enable Internet users to quickly verify the registration status of nursing
practitioners in South Africa.
While full details of persons removed from the register are always retained in the
Nursing Council's official register, the
eRegister
ONLY contains details of those persons currently registered. The absence of
a persons name from the
eRegister
means that he/she has either been removed from the register or never been registered at all. If necessary, users of the
eRegister
should always confirm the reason why the person has been removed from the
register. Request this information by calling the Help Desk on (012) 420-1000
during office hours or by email sent to
registrar@sanc.co.za
The information in the
eRegister
is displayed in good faith as an easy to use tool for Internet users. Every
effort has been made to ensure that the information displayed is correct and that
the system operates correctly. However, the Council's official register
(database) will always take precedence in the event of any discrepancy.
While every reasonable effort is made to maintain current, accurate and relevant
information in the
eRegister,
neither the South African Nursing Council, nor its officials, nor its agents accept
responsibility for any direct or indirect damages as a result of using or quoting
from the contents of the Electronic Register or the information delivered or NOT
delivered.
Unauthorised use of the
eRegister
is strictly forbidden.
