Recent Changes to the Regulations of South African Nursing Council
Regulations relating to the Particulars to be
Furnished to the Council for Keeping of the Register for Nursing Practitioners,
the Manner of Effecting Alterations to the Register, and Certificates that may
be Issued by the Council These are totally new regulations relating to the keeping of the Register. In future there will be one unified register for qualified nurses instead of the separate registers and rolls for different categories. These regulations also repeal the regulations indicated in the table below.

basic and post-basic papers has been

Misconduct and the Conduct of Inquiries The accused in professional conduct proceedings now has the option to be represented by a professional association or labour organization during the proceedings instead of the usual counsel or attorney - provided that the registrar is informed in writing of the name of any such representative.
