Regulations Regarding Rolls for Enrolled Nurses and Midwives: Amendment

The Minister of Health has in terms of section 45(1) of the Nursing Act, 1978 (Act No. 50 of 1978), on the recommendation of the South African Nursing Council, made the regulations in the Schedule.

SCHEDULE

Definition

1.    In this Schedule “the Regulations” means the regulations published under Government Notice No. R. 3588 of 24 October 1969, as amended by Government Notices Nos. R. 1205 of 7 July 1972, R. 773 of 11 May 1973, R. 1855 of 8 October 1976, R. 189 of 2 February 1979, R. 2208 of 31 October 1980, R. 816 of 30 April 1982, R. 1420 of 1 July 1983, R. 1903 of 23 September 1988, R. 2195 of 6 September 1991, R. 1321 of 23 July 1993, R. 1130 of 28 July 1995, R. 1127 of 23 September 1999, R. 1304 of 5 December 2001, R. 151 of 24 January 2003, R. 858 of 13 June 2003 and R. 703 of 22 July 2005.

Amendment of regulation 2 of the Regulations

2.    Regulation 2 of the Regulations is hereby amended by –

(a)    the substitution in subregulation (2)(a)(vi) for the expression “three hundred rand (R300)” of the expression “three hundred and twenty eight rand and ninety-five cents (R328,95), excluding VAT”;

(b)    the substitution in subregulation (2)(b)(i) for the expression “fifty rand (R50) in” of the expression “fifty-five rand and twenty-six cents (R55,26), excluding VAT, in”; and

(c)    the substitution in subregulation (2)(b)(ii) for the expression “two hundred rand (R200) in” of the expression “two hundred and nineteen rand and thirty cents (R219,30), excluding VAT, in”.

Amendment of regulation 3 of the Regulations

3.    Regulation 3 of the Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution in subregulation (1) for the expression “one hundred and twenty-seven rand and nineteen cents (R127,19)” of the expression “one hundred and thirty-nine rand and forty-seven cents (R139,47)”.

Amendment of regulation 5 of the Regulations

4.    Regulation 5 of the Regulations is hereby amended by –

(a)    the substitution in subregulation (1)(a) for the expression “fifty-two rand and sixty-three cents (R52,63)”; of the expression “fifty-eight rand and seventy-seven cents (R58,77)” and

(b)    the substitution in subregulation (1)(b) for the expression “one hundred and ninety-seven rand and thirty-seven cents (R197,37)” of the expression “two hundred and sixteen rand and sixty-seven cents (R216,67)”.

Commencement of regulations

5.    These regulations shall come into operation on the date of publication in the Gazettte.

Transitional arrangements

6.    Regulation 3 of these regulations will not apply to annual fees in respect of the –

(a)    2006 calendar year; and

(b)    2007 calendar year if the annual fee was paid before the date of publication of these regulations.
