Explanatory notes:
	1.The age distribution uses the date of birth to calculate the age of each nurse on 31 December of the specified year.
	2.If no date of birth has been provided, a nurse is counted as Not Recorded (N/R).  For many years it has been compulsory to provide a date of birth when registering or enrolling with the SA Nursing Council.  It is therefore safe to say that all nurses in the “Not Recorded” group would have to be at least 50 years or older.
	3.The age distribution statistics include nurses who are resident outside the RSA.  For this reason, totals may be slightly more that other statistics that apply to nurses resident in the RSA only.
